Geoffrey Marain wins in the Flanders

The nice field of players

This monday in Hofstade-Zemst the monthly tournament of the SC Flanders club had a great field of 14 entries. Players were coming from 6 of the 10 provinces of Belgium and 8 different clubs were represented. As usual the event was played in Swiss system and there were surprises in every round. In session 2, Vincent Guyaux managed to beat Jos Ceulemans while Geoffrey marain took the best on Frank Lannoy. In session 3, Geoffrey defeated Vincent to take the lead.

Final 4 of the event: Vincent Guyaux (4), Geoffrey Marain (1), Jos Ceulemans (2), Renald Deloose (4)

In the last session, the only 2 players with 9 points met in the decisive game and Geoffrey Marain defeated the unexpected finalist Renald Deloose to claim the title. Deloose ends 4th while Jos Ceulemans finally finishes second thanks to a good goal difference.
