Monthly report of the WASPA circuit (January 2015)

Dear all, here is the monthly report of the WASPA circuit.

This month we had 26 events and some great happenings:
- the tournament in Vienna (Austria) was the 500th "regional" tournament in the WASPA history;
- we had the first tournament in Brisbane, maybe another future hot place for the game in Australia;
- Switzerland is back. After Basel United, the Linth Sliders hosted a tournament this month;
- 3 FISTF events had consolation tournaments held under WASPA banner: the GP of Austria, the GP of Australia, the Open of Enderby in England;
- for the first time we have had a player from Czech Republic taking part in a WASPA tournament;
- we were glad to have a tournament in Madrid, Spain;
- the club of Jurong Central in Singapore will have a circuit of tournaments this season with tournaments every month;
- we had 26 new players but the growth is smaller as we have now 1474 players ranked (1469 last month);
- Jamaica and Pakistan have been removed of the ranking of nations. Their players (who all live in England) have not played in the last 24 months.
Australia has a new club in Brisbane

New project: tournament posters
We have spoken with Steve Dettre who made a great proposal. Tournament organizers how have made posters should send a copy of the files to Adrian Elmer at ajebec@netspace.net.au
Please send them in .jpg or .pdf as the main thing would be getting them in as high a resolution/size as possible.
The idea is to create one poster with a selection of the best event posters!
We had WASPA action in Tampa Bay, Florida in January!
WASPA is trying to become stronger but we will need ideas of everyone to keep on growing.

We are very happy to work together in a very positive way with FISTF. Thanks a million times to Mr Alan Collins, the FISTF President, who has understood that WASPA and FISTF are not rival associations and that both bodies should work together for the good of the game.

Keep in mind for any request about the WASPA circuit and for sending results, you must use the following e-mail address: vincent.cop@rsca.com
The consolation tournament at the FISTF Grand Prix of Austria was played under WASPA banner
Please note the blog is updated as often as possible at http://waspa-circuit.blogspot.com

The FISTF website is http://www.fistf.com

Have a great day and keep on flicking!
