Dave and Adrian in Gillingham

Kent Invicta had a small WASPA event Friday (13th) night. In an evening of sometimes very tight games, it was the Welsh Wizard, Adrian Davies who topped the group of 5 players with 4 wins from his 4 games. Kye Arnold came second after a slow start but soon found the net frequently as the evening progressed with 3 wins from 4 games.

Action in Knighton

Last Friday six players met in Knighton to play a WASPA promotional tournament in Swiss format. Danny Bird took the honors as he won his four games to finish with 12 points. Dan Nicholls (9), Tom Taylor (6), Matt Booth (4), Rory Gittoes (3) and Kenny Evans (1) were also taking part. It is great to see the Knighton club growing with regular events.

There were three smaller events in England held earlier this month with turnouts of three players. In Chopwell (July 5) Nigel Lamond took the honors after defeating Dave Brothers while Chris Kaberry was runner-up with 2 draws.

In North Shields (July 8), Chris Kaberry was the winner of the evening with two games won against Dave Brothers and Stephen Dobbison while Brothers defeated Dobbison to be runner-up.

Also in North Shields but on July 12, Dave Brothers took the honors with 4 points in 2 games while Nigel Lamond (3) was runner-up and Andy Mill took the third place (1).
