Great flicks and newcomers in Melbourne

TGIF ! What a great session of Friday Flicks !

It was a combo night of a WASPA event for our club players, as well as friendly social flicks where we introduced a few newcomers to the game.

For the WASPA (World Amateur Subbuteo Players Association) event, a small but dedicated group of 5 players competed for honours. The round-robin matches were all played in great spirit and sportsmanship. It was a tight competition with top seed Benny taking out the title on the night with a narrow win in the final round of matches. Special mention to our juniors Charlotte and Billy who did really well competing in the Open category for the first time gaining valuable experience.

Newcomers flicking like pros
Having seen an article about Western Flickers in the local Maribyrnong & Hobsons Bay Star Weekly newspaper, a local family decided to come and try out the game. The kids immediately took the game and enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Credit to master coach David and master junior coach Billy providing expert guidance to the new flickers. Well done !

To close off the memorable night, we also had a couple of always-fun-filled doubles games.

GO PELICANS !
