Ross McNulty wins in Perth

Report of the latest tournament held in Perth. Finals were played on July 17. Report sent by the host club.

Group stage
1. AC Milan (Alan Kimber) 16
2. Manchester City (Ross Mcnulty) 14
3. Dortmund (Chris Thorn) 11
4. Arsenal (John Harty) 8
5. Wolfsburg (Hugh Best) 3

4rd & 5th Elimination Playoff
1 John Harty (Arsenal)
3 Hugh Best (Wolfsburg)
In a tight game Best notched up his first competitive victory in memorable fashion against Harty as he scored 2 goals without reply when the game was deadlocked at 1-1, well done Hugh on a superb display that shows how far you have come since joining the club.

Semi Final 1
2 Ross Mcnulty (Man City)
1 Chris Thorn (Dortmund)
Every game between these two has been decided by a goal over the last year and this was no different, Mcnulty got off to a flier after a goalless first half with a fine finish but Thorn came right back with a clinical equalizer with 5mins left but almost as quick as the dust was settling on the pitch Mcnulty emphatically went 2-1 up and held on as Thorn searched in desperation for an equalizer only to be denied by the woodwork and one fine save.

Semi Final 2
4 Alan Kimber (AC Milan)
0 Hugh Best (Wolfsburg)
Again another ruthless display by powerhouse Kimber who led 2-0 at half time with another absolute peach of a long distance strike yet again, Best had some fine moments but could not turn it into goals and as a result Kimber went on to strike 2 more crackers to sink the hopes of a maiden final appearance for Best who again could hold his head high. Kimber continued his march towards another final and further justify his standing within the club as a very dangerous player.

3rd & 4th Playoff Final
3 Chris Thorn (Dortmund)
0 Hugh Best (Wolfsburg)
Again Thorn played a great match and took his chances in style as the fairy tail ended for Best who ran out of luck against an opponent in terrific form. The scoreline was somewhat flattering as Best himself had a few great chances to score but there was no denying Thorn who again showed what a great player he is when on song and in full flow, well done Chris.

Final
1 Ross Mcnulty (Man City)
0 Alan Kimber (AC Milan)
In a game full of drama Mcnulty put away a chance after 10mins from just inside the shooting area that rocketed past the helpless keeper. Kimber pressed forward but was thwarted by some great goal keeping and fine defensive flicks from Mcnulty that blocked chance after chance during the second half, both players hit the woodwork but a tactical masterclass denied the dangerous Kimber from finding a way back into the game and so Mcnulty notched his 2nd title in consecutive months.
