Enrico Frisone wins Endurance Cup in Brescia

Last week-end in Brescia, in the Theatre Hall of the municipal district, the 11th edition of the “Endurance Colpani Cup” tournament took place. This time the game included 56 registered players coming from all over Italy and from nine different regions.

The Old Rules tournament followed the “endurance format,” which includes 11 rounds with matches of 30 minutes each, for a total of 7 to 9 matches per player. The 56 players were divided into 8 groups of 7 players. The top five players from each group (40 players) then advanced, according to their ranking, to a knockout bracket: Master Gold, Silver and Bronze, Challenge Gold and Silver, playing quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.

In the 10th round, the 16 players who had finished last in their respective groups re-entered the competition, playing two knockout rounds. The four remaining semi-finalists then competed for the Finisher Cup, which was decided by drawing lots with dice.

Results:

MASTER Gold category: winner Enrico Frisone, runner up Francesco Molinari

MASTER Silver category: winner Claudio Colpani, runner up Federico Milan

MASTER Bronze category: winner Christian Mascitti, runner up Lorenzo Mentasti

CHALLENGE Gold category: winner Marco Bertolotti, runner up Alessandro Nefi

CHALLENGE Silver category: winner Jury Di Tullio, runner up Andrea Tonet

FINSHER CUP: Lucky winner Marco Delendati. Runner up Costa, Bacchini, Guglielmo.

Start of the game at 12:00 and happy end at 19:45.

A special thanks to the logistical support offered by Leonardo D’Amico and the team of OLD LIONS MACERATA which transported with a van for 1000 km as many as 6 tables, in addition to the 15 provided by the Colpani organization, making possible to play on 21 tables, all with Astropitch pitches. A special thanks also to Oscar Caselli, Giorgio & Lorenzo Mentasti, in assisting organizers with set up and dismantling the equipment, early in the morning, until late evening.

“Rather than celebrating winners, we always celebrate a day of friendship.”
