WASPA rankings of October 2025

Dear Subbuteo friends,

it's November already and we are happy to release the WASPA rankings of October.

Excel file with rankings

PDF file with results

Last month was another amazing month with 43 tournaments added in the records including the All-Ireland championhips in Derry, 36 regional tournaments and 6 tournaments played with the old rules. Since the beginning of the season, we have had events held in 15 different countries, which is superb!

Malcolm Jamieson is the new leader of the season ranking and there are changes also on top of the different club rankings. 59 clubs have already scored points in the three different sections but we really hope we can have more then the current 7 clubs ranked in the Junior table as the youth remains a priority for the future of the game.

Special thanks once again to the national associations who support the WASPA circuit. We really appreciate the support from the Asian Confederation after the different events organised besides the Asian Cup in Sydney but also the national events held in Ireland and Switzerland and England with WASPA points for the players taking part.

Your ideas and proposals to improve the WASPA circuit are welcome so don't hesitate to send messages.

Have a great week-end and let's keep Subbuteo alive!

Milan Knezevic wins Swiss Cup in Aesch

Podium of the day: Eric Lienhardt (2) - Milan Knezevic (1) - John Imbrogiano (3)

On 25 October 2025, subbuteo.ch held the 2nd SWISS CUP 2025 in Aesch BL. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the municipality of Aesch and all the helpers who made this event possible.

We welcomed 19 players from Germany, France and Switzerland. Our special guest was Willi Hofmann, who presented his new ‘Cones’ figures for the first time. He not only had to play against the standard Subbuteo figures, but also against Toccer figures by Hervé Rakowski. The Toccer figures (1993) are another creation from Willi Hofmann.

Fair play, fun and friendship were the watchwords for all the matches. Thank you.

Unfortunately, Willi Hofmann had to leave the tournament early due to back pain.

This shot is the winning goal for Milan Knezevic
There were many interesting matches in the group stage, but it was in the round of 16 that things really got going. One notable match was the quarter-final between Hervé Rakowski and Hervé Fino, which ended 3-6. Hervé Fino then lost 1:2 to Milan Knezevic and John Imbrogiano lost 0:1 to Eric Lienhardt. John won the small final against Hervé 3:0.
Group match Eric Lienhardt against Willi Hofmann

Milan Knezevic won the final against Eric Lienhardt 3:2 after extra time.

Claudio Colpani winner in Brescia

The 10th edition of the Subbuteo Old rules "Endurance Colpani Cup" took place in the usual municipal hall made available by the city of Brescia.

The event featured 28 players from Lombardy, Liguria, Emilia Romagna, Veneto, Trentino, and Friuli, representing as many as 12 different clubs.

The tournament format included 4 groups of 7 players each (round robin), followed by semi-finals and final rounds divided into three groups: Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

In the Gold group, the host Claudio Colpani emerged victorious after a hard-fought final against Federico Milan.

The Silver group was won by Lorenzo Mentasti, who defeated Francesco Molinari, while Giorgio Manfioletti claimed victory in the Bronze group.

A total of 94 matches were played, each consisting of a 2 x 15 minutes time, all conducted without referees, a testament to the players’ outstanding fair play, even in a competitive tournament setting.

The 11th edition is already scheduled for the beginning of new year, to be held in a larger venue where an even greater number of enthusiasts will be welcomed.
