The Maryland Subbuteo Club hosted a WASPA tournament on Saturday, October 3, featuring a four-player double round-robin format.
After a closely contested evening, the final standings were:
- Dan Cranston - 16 points
- Paul Eyes - 14 points
- Andrew Zunino - 3 points
- Michael Buccheri - 3 points
Having drawn their first encounter, the battle for first place came down to the final-round showdown between Dan Cranston and Paul Eyes. Dan secured the title with a 3-1 victory, including an unusual goal scored directly from a corner kick that deflected off Paul's goalkeeper and into the net.
The final round also saw Michael Buccheri claim a 1-0 victory over Andrew Zunino, earning his first win of the tournament.
Congratulations to Dan Cranston on taking the tournament victory, and thanks to the Maryland Subbuteo Club for hosting another successful WASPA event.
