The July session of the 2022 TFAS SG League took place on 24 Jul at The Sports Hub Library. 6 players were in attendance for a full round-robin format where each player gets 5 games. Without a shadow of doubt and with unerring consistency, Anas Rahamat once again showed why he is at the top of his game by winning all his 5 games!! Congratulations to Anas!! However, the real MVP of the day was Enzo Fornaro. In his best showing in Singapore table football to-date, Enzo held newly-crowned National Champion Michael Choong to a 0-0 draw; and scored 2-1 victories against national team players Vikas Chandiramani & Bernard Lim. Well done and congratulations Enzo!!

Rudi Peterschinigg wins first Andover tournament
The Andover Subbuteo Club held it’s first open W.A.S.P.A tournament on Sunday 10th July and a well attended event at the Andover Masonic Hall saw Rudi Peters lift the open trophy in a tight Final against Alan Lee.
24 players from a range of clubs across the UK took part in a well organised event. Andover Club Chairman had worked hard to ensure that the tournament ran as smoothly as possible and with the help of his assistant Jon Willing took the plaudits from all the participants.
6 groups of 4 ended with 2 3/4th place play offs and the Open and plate final, Chris was surprised as anyone to make the Plate final where he succumbed to the more experienced Tony Banks but it was the Open Final between two top players in Alan Lee and Rudi Peters which was a great end to a great day.
A big thank you must go to everyone who attended, to the venue who looked after us and congratulations to Rudi on winning.
A side note, Chris built all the 10 tables himself, 8 of which were used throughout the day.

Subbuteo action in Cape Town, South Africa |
As for the rankings, there is not much to say but we want to focus on the fact 2 clubs (Cape town City and Wamme SC) joined the Junior ranking of clubs, which is always great news.
Don't hesitate to run tournaments under the WASPA banner. It's a great way to promote your club, to attract new players and to create local or regional development and we all agree this is what the game needs nowadays.
Visit of Erza Aripin in Templeuve |
All your ideas to make the WASPA circuit more attractive are more than welcome. Don't hesitate to send your feedback. We also hope to see more and more clubs running events under the WASPA banner in the future.

Henk Landzaat wins big event in Gouda
Top 3 players in Gouda this week-end: Patrick de Jong (3), Henk Landzaat (1) and David Wouters (2) |
Great news from the Netherlands where the local scene seems to be very active again. Three tournaments have recently been held under WASPA banner. The first tournament took place in Gouda with six players taking part. Fabrizio Cavazza defeated Nico Marks to claim the title. Jarno Marks won the game for the third place against Xavier Aret and Cailim Marks beat Maurice Montone in the game for the 5th place.
Two weeks later, 8 players met for another event and the final was very similar as Fabrizio Cavazza defeated Nico Marks on shots. Other involved players finished the day as follows: Xavier Aret (3rd), Rinaldo van Dijk (4th), Maurice Montone (5th), Jarno Marks (6th), Mario Fritelli (7th) and Cailim Marks (8th). The local group had to say goodbye to Mario Fritelli who is moving to Ireland and will hopefully find some opponents in his new location. Good luck!
Finally, this week-end, the "big event" organized by Xavier Aret had a fantastic turnout of 16 players including three visitors from Belgium. Henk Landzaat was the big winner of the day, defeating David Wouters in the final. It was great to see some old faces like Rene Bolte and Dennis Landzaat while some young players competed among the older generation. Thanks to this victory Henk Landzaat becomes number 1 in the Dutch national ranking.
Spacial thanks to Xavier Aret for his hard work!
Final table:
1. Henk Landzaat
2. Dave Wouters
3. Patrick de Jong
4. Fabrizio Cavazza
5. Nico Marks
6. René Bolte
7. Marco de Bruin
8. Stéphane Lambert
9. Rinaldo van Dijk
10. Xavier Aret
11. Jarno Marks
12. Martijn de Jong
13. Frank Lannoy
14. Cailim Marks
15. Fedde Aret
16. Chantal de Jong
