The 13th Endurance Colpani Cup: A Great Celebration of Subbuteo Old Rules

Sunday, August 23 in Brescia was another fantastic day of Subbuteo Old Rules, marked by friendship, sportsmanship, and fair play.

Forty players from Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, and even distant Campania took part in the 13th edition of the Endurance Colpani Cup, organized under the W.A.S.P.A. banner.

Following an opening stage consisting of eight groups of five players, the competition continued across five different categories, with three further knockout rounds. In total, 128 matches were played on 16 pitches throughout the day.

This year, Gaetano Ciraolo emerged victorious, defeating tournament organizer Claudio Colpani, winner of the previous edition. The final was a thrilling contest that remained finely balanced until the very end. Colpani displayed his trademark attacking flair, while Ciraolo adopted a more disciplined and structured approach, typical of an accomplished table football player.

The event was enriched not only by the participation of players representing nine different Italian regions, but also by the presence of historic figures from the Lombard Subbuteo scene of the 1970s, including Antonio Maggi. As has become tradition, several members of the Old Subbuteo community also took part, alongside young talents such as Pieretti, Monti, and Cazzaniga, competing together with experienced table football players.

A special thank you goes to the ever-present Francesco Zolfanelli, who once again traveled all the way from Campania to join the event.

Everyone came together to enjoy a tournament format with no referees, plenty of playing time, and, above all, a wonderful atmosphere of friendship and sportsmanship.
