Daniel Cranston wins the Alex Cup
Daniel Cranston survived an up and down day, to finish on top in a sudden death finish against Gregg Deinhart (3-2) in the Alex Cup Final. Earlier Cranston had lost Bryan Arnold 1-2 in a great result for the Virginia based player. Eyes also defeated Cranston (3-0) to leave Cranston on the brink of elimination. He secured his spot with a shootout victory over Andrew Zunino, before defeating Eyes and Deinhart to take the title. In junior play, Sam Cohen topped a four man field going undefeated on the day. The event was played in honor of Alex Giffen, who sadly passed away last week. The Giffen family (7 siblings) have all played in table soccer events in the mid atlantic area in years past, and they are part of our table soccer family. The players raised $300 in Alex’s name. This money will be sent to the Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma Research Foundation (ACCRF) later this week.
