Promotion for forthcoming events in June 2019

A quick look at the promotion of forthcoming events with the great job of some of our active clubs.

In Italy, the "69ers" will hold a tournament in Borgo Vercelli and they proudly told the local newspaper the tournament is played under WASPA banner, which is a great form of respect.

In South Africa the Pretoria Flickers have revealed the poster of their next tournament.

In Derry (Northern Ireland), the next DCTFC tournament will be held next Monday.

Finally, the amazing job done by our Spanish friends of Marina Citerior SC who have had support of local sponsors and will hold a special tournament on June 21&22. Rumors said Carlos Flores Lopez will be taking part, which is fantastic for WASPA. there will be a prize money and all details are available from https://www.portaldelamarina.org/evento/torneo-de-subbuteo/

Thanks once again to all organizers for the efforts to promote the game!

A new project in Greece

From times to times we are happy to see new project to attract new players. We have been informed that our firned Christos Kotrotsos, member of the Roligans club in Greece, decided to start a table football project in the Tavros professional & technical school where he's a teacher.

The school organised for the first time a club for indoor sports like table football and table tennis. The name of the amateur club is Tavros Technical School Indoor Sports Club and the emblem is the "bull" and the school logo. The club is going to organise tournaments through the year.

The first table soccer tournament took place on Monday with 15 players in 5 groups of three, celebrating the end of the school year, a few days before the examinations period.

At the table soccer tournament the winner of open category was Christos Kotrotsos and the winner of U-19/students and finalist was Hodo Angelos. Semi-finalists were Simopoulos Giorgos and Islami Hermes.

Good luck to Christos and his students for the new project!

Promotion with kids in Northern Ireland

There was a great day at the Acorn primary Christmas fair! There were exhibitions, friendly games and even a small tournament. For several reasons we will not count the games in the WASPA circuit but hopefully many of the new players will have a chance to play official games in the near future. Well done to all the youngsters today and special thanks to Craig Stewart for making things happen!

Action in Czech Republic

On September 22, David Young, Jiri Uchityl and Marco Zucchi met in a wine cellar in Prague to play some games.

It was not really a tournament, more a way to play games and to promote Subbuteo. It was a nice evening of play without pressure of competition, in particular for David who is recovering after having broken his leg a few months ago. The good news is that David is going better and playing games.

There will be more action on October 15 and, depending on numbers, this might be a WASPA tournament this time.

Well done to Czech Subbuteo Tym 2014 for their efforts of promotion.
