Joseph Luis Sanchez wins in Gibraltar

The FISTF Open of Gibraltar took place this week-end. The event was exciting with a great field of players and many top players from Spain taking part. Just like last season, organizers decided to have a WASPA tournament during the week-end. Jose Luis Sanchez (Europa FC TSC) defeated clubmate Jonathan Dotto in the final, offering a victory to Gibraltar. Miguel Ángel Matabuena (FM La Plazoleta) and Manuel Romero (Europa FC TSC) made it to the semi-finals. Congratulations to everyone and huge thanks to John Field for his support to the WASPA circuit. Good luck to the Gibraltar association as they will host the FISTF world cup in September 2018 and the work to prepare a fantastic tournament is already in progress.

There was a WASPA tournament this week-end in Gibraltar during the FISTF grand Prix organized by the local association. In the final, Luis Felipe Mendez from Spain defeated local player Lawrence Alvarez (3-1) while last year's winner William Dotto lost in the semi-final against Mendez. Thanks to John Field and the Gibraltar players for their support and showing interest for the WASPA circuit!

During the recent Gibraltar Open, a WASPA tournament was played after the group stage of the FISTF event. The event had and excellent field of 13 and in the final, local player Jonathan Dotto took the best on Francis Avellano (2-2 and 3-0 on shots). Curro Jimenez from Spain and Lawrence Alvarez were the semi-finalists. Congratulations to Jonathan Dotto for the win (he's the very first winner from Gibraltar in the WASPA circuit) and special thanks to John Field for making things happen!
