WASPA report of December 2018

Dear all,

first of all, best wishes for 2019. I hope all your dreams will come true in the next few months and hopefully our favorite hobby will remain a priority for all of us.

WASPA Season results 2018-2019
WASPA ranking - December 18

You will find in the attached files the updates records of the WASPA circuit after the tournaments held in December.
Players at the latest Western Sydney tournament in Australia
We have added 31 events in the records (28 regional, 2 promo, 1 advanced rules) + some records of the NETFA mini-leagues and from the Dutch league.

December was a special month because two new clubs organized their first WASPA tournaments. Huge welcome to TSC 69ers from Italy and to Eastern Ontario Subbuteo League from Canada.

You will see in the records that Australia and Belgium have been the most active nations this month with a lot of events organized by many different clubs but it's good to see Greece also had 3 events and Northern Ireland had a tournament with advanced rules.  Events in Italy, Cyprus, England, Singapore and South Africa had a good turnout and we are glad about it!
The first WASPA tournament in Trenton, Ontario (Canada)
We have had tournaments in 18 different countries since the beginning of the season but we really hope many more nations will hold tournaments.

There are not many changes in the individual rankings of the Open category but there is a big change in the Junior section with Olliver Ollnow from Australia being the new number 1. We see now Northern Ireland in the top 5 of nations (ranking by places). In the club rankings there are not many changes but the TSC 69ers from Italy are a new entry in the Junior section. Great job!
Huge turnout for the Flaming Flickers tournament in Greece
If some juniors (born in 2002) don't appear in the ranking, it means we don't have their birthdates so please send your feedback.

Well, that's all for now. Please remember you only need 3 players to register your tournament. Don't be scared to join. It's free and tournament requests can be sent by e-mail to vincent.cop@rsca.com

Keep an eye on the WASPA blog at http://waspa-circuit.blogspot.com as there are updates almost every day.

A great WASPA tournament in Singapore
Ideas to develop the WASPA circuit, to get new clubs/nations involved or to make things more attractive are always welcome. We stay at your disposal for more info.
