Great events in Pretoria and Cape Town

Jayden van der Merwe retains the League 3 Cup
Saturday 20 October 2018, Pretoria, South Africa:

This event brought together 8 contestants as we battled it out in the final League Cup event of 2018.
In Round 1 action, the 2017 defending champion Jayden van der Merwe recorded a very conservative opening 1-0 win over Conway Julie.
Osvaldo van Niekerk held his own against Kegan van der Merwe in an entertaining 0-0 draw. Bevin Reed held to a 0-0 draw by Julian van der Merwe in a very open ended match. Then the round ended on a dramatic note, as Chessray Jooste scored with 1 second left to play to record a 1-0 Round 1 win over Gary Downs !
Round 2 saw Conway register his first ever win over Julian by way of a 1-0 victory. Bevin was then made to work for his 1-0 victory over Osvaldo. Kegan & Chessray played to a 0-0 draw, with Kegan pulling off two good stops to force the draw. Jayden then dispatched of Gary by way of another 1-0 win.
At the end of Round 2, Conway found himself in 4th spot overall.
In Round 3, Jayden stepped up his game to register a 2-0 win over Julian. Gary then held Bevin to a 1-1 draw whilst Conway managed a 1-1 draw against Kegan as well. Chessray then beat Osvaldo by 1-0 , opening the way for Chessray to go 2nd overall and just 2 points behind the leader Jayden. Round 4 then produced the highest scoring round of the day - first, Kegan and Bevin played to a 1-1 draw in the battle for potential 2nd / 3rd place.
In the "old timers battle", Julian recorded a 1-0 win over Gary - bringing the overall score to 2-2 in this "personal battle". Osvaldo then done exactly what was required of him - to register a 2-0 win over Conway for Osvaldo to replace Conway at 4th place overall!
Jayden then saved his best for last - an emphatic 4-0 win over Chessray in the potential battle for top honours. The win ensured that Jayden enjoyed an unbeaten run all day to lead the standings from start to finish - a triumph that marks Jayden's 17th WASPA title to date!
This win also ensured that Jayden has managed to end the year as the overall League Champion on 12 points, with Bevin following on 9 points and Kegan taking 3rd place overall with 8 points.
