Alekos Apatzis wins old rules event

Last Sunday OSC Kallithea Flame held the first ever Greek Subbuteo event under the italian old subbuteo rules with 12 players. The theme was "Espana 82" Mundial original subbuteo material was used. The guest of honor Antonio Chieppa who traveled from Italy to explained the differences in the rules, which were almost the samed as the Greek old rules of 1989. Differences were carefully noted. There were some close games in the group stage but in the knock-out rounds the games became tighter with a lot of extra times and penalties till the end. Even the final ended in the penalties shoot out with Hungary (Alekos Apatzis) beating Argentina (Vassilis Dragossis) in order to take the world cup trophy.

It was a great time for all in the subbuteo spirit and we thank everyone for their participation. Thanks to the winner Alekos Apatzis for a great performance and Special thanks to Mr Antonio Chieppa for his valuable vacation time that was dedicated to our club.
