Christian Filippella is the new US champion
In the first week-end of August, Maryland was the center of American Subbuteo as the National was organized by Paul Eyes and Maryland Subbuteo club in a nice venue in Ellicott City. 23 players from all over the US were taking part. Christian Filippella, who is based in California, won the final against Daniel Cranston. Paul O'Donovan Rossa and Michael Tillman reached the semis. Gregg Deinhart from Virginia won the consolation tournament but also the veterans title after a close final against Dario Passadore (Florida). Grant Lilly was the U19 champion. The event also gave some WASPA points for the competitors. 8 players from the USA will be present in Belgium to play the FISTF World Cup on September 3 and 4. They will have training sessions in Eugies on August 31 (friendly team event) and in Templeuve on September 1 (WASPA tournament). We wish them good luck for their trip in Europe.
