Subbuteo in Italy: January WASPA events in Genova, Lamezia and Terni

Things are on the up in Italy where several WASPA tournaments have been held in the last few days. In a country where Subbuteo is part of the national culture, it is great to see that some clubs continue to work on local development and try to recruit new players.

In Genova, the "Rebels" held a great event last week-end with 18 players taking part. The players were divided in three divisions of 6 players so that everyone had 5 games. Riccardo Berioli (from the neighbors of "Figures Genova"), Massimo Garatti and Davide Balito won in their respective divisions. The "Rebels" are proving they do an amazing job of promotion and it's great to see representatives from 4 clubs in total where taking part.

There will be an old rules tournament in Genova on Friday, also organized by the Rebels.

In Lamezia Terme, the club of Virtus Calabria held a tournament played with the old rules. 9 players were divided in 3 groups with then another 3 groups to decide the final standings. Congratulations to Andrea Pagano for being not only the organozer of the event but also the winner.

Finally, the latest tournament of SC Terni 2014 took place last week with 3 players. Simone Perotti took the honors. This was already the club's 11th tournament this season, which means they have one tournament left to reach the maximum of 12 events before the end of the season.
