Some great events in Wales

There is a lot of action going on in Wales for the moment. After a great tournament in Cardiff, three more events have been held recently.
Trevor Schott won the promotional event
First of all, London Road SC held a promotional event on January 13 with a small field of four players but some great games were played. Trevor Schott from England took the honors, finishing on top of the table while Cayne Matthews was runner-up.

On January 14 it was fantastic to see Knighton TFC holding a great tournament with 23 players and five teams. The team event consisted in a group of 5. Cardiff TFC finished on top while London Road SC was runner-up, Wolverhampton SFC was 3rd, Cardiff B was 4th and Knighton TFC took the 5th place. The individual tournament had a great turnout and Phil Dacey took the honors, defeating Brian Daley in the final. Sensation of the day was caused by Ruby Matthews. The young girl managed to reach the semi-finals after defeating Danny Bird in the quarter-finals. Darren Barnes was the other semi-finalist. To be noted the final matches were filmed by the Welsh TV channel for their Sgorio Mwy programme on S4C.

As for Knighton TFC, from Sunday 21st January Knighton Table Football Club/Trefyclo Clwb Peldroed Bwrdd is moving to the Plough Inn in Market Street/Heol Farchnad. Meetings start at 13.00 and finish at 16.15.

See on the left side the story published in the local paper.

Brian Daley won the LRSC WASPA regional tournament
Finally, on January 21, London Road had another great tournament with 9 players involved. Brian Daley defeated Richard Stock in the final while Yanni Kelly and Trevor Schott made it to the semi-finals. Cayne Matthews won the plate event. A great day was had by all.
