No Christmas break for English Subbuteo players

Three WASPA events took place this Sunday in England.

Morecambe Bay players

The Morecambe Bay Christmas cup had 6 players competing in a group format and three players finished on top with the same number of points. Goal difference was decisive with Lee Hatfield first, Stuart Andrews second and Luca Lanzani third. The other players were Brian Andrew, Rob Wilkinson and Keith Carman.

Action in Gillingham

Kent Invicta held an end of year WASPA which saw 10 players from Kent, Worthing and Surrey playing some fun Sunday afternoon matches ⚽️🏆. Kye Arnold came out on top beating teammate Tom Lacey  in the final with Worthing’s Malcolm Jamieson & Connor Gregory losing semi-finalists. Great to see Louis Singh back for some games too.

Bob Varney (right) winner in Pedmore

Finally, congratulations to Bob Varney on successfully defending the prestigious Roy Holden Trophy & Festive Flicker WASPA open event held by Pedmore Subbuteo & Table Football club.

Great to have Rich Grimley representing Godiva SC back playing, this was his first event in years and he put up a great performance, eventually losing in the main event quarter-final to Bob Varney in the golden Goal period.

Also great to see a stalwart of the game Arthur Collins (Pedmore) pick up some silver wear… Arthur only started playing again in April 2024. A huge thanks to everyone who attended the event and supporting the Club & a massive thanks to Quarry Bank Social Club for being a great host.
