June 2023: results from England, Wales, Italy and Australia

Here is a quick look at the first event of the month. June started with tournaments played in England, Wales, Italy and Australia.


The Leicester tournament was played last Wednesday with 10 players in attendance. Jeremy Bradley won his five games to take the trophy. The final standings of the evening were as follows (all Leicester unless noted):

In Stanway, 7 players competed in a league format. Kevin Cordell took the honors thanks to the goal difference after Kevin and Martin Hodds finished the evening with the same number of points. Final table (all Stanway unless noted)

In Italy, the Rebels Genova organized a "promotional tournament" for their juniors. 11 players were competing in two categories. Tommaso Sani won the main event after winning 5 of his six games. Samuele Bignardi (who won the previous two tournaments in May) was runner-up and Andrea Bolioli won the beginners tournament.

In Wales it was good to see another event in Cardiff. David Lauder and darren Barnes ended the evening with 3 wins and a draw but David took the honors on goal difference. Final table (all Cardiff unless noted):

We were finally glad to see another tournament in Brisbane, Australia. The local BSC had 6 players taking part. After the group stage, Gus Gillespie defeated Kevin Halliday in the final to claim the trophy.
