WFW25 Junior WASPA event report
On June 30 the junior Pelicans were the stars of the show with a WASPA event exclusively for the kids.
The talented Briffa boys were unfortunate last minute scratches so we had to make a change in the competition format. Instead, our 5 remaining rising stars competed in a simple round robin format.
Returning from a long break, Aiman Hanafi had a tough session but still played really well to earn a couple of deserved draws. Jayden and Billy were neck and neck all day and only a single goal difference snared Jayden third spot. Charlotte continued her recent fine form with a second place finish, while top seed Benjamin was the dominant player of the day winning all his matches.
More importantly, it was a fun session with excellent sportsmanship all round. Our senior players gave out some tips as they refereed the game and Charlotte even had a go to referee a couple of games ! Well done C !
The future is looking bright indeed for our club juniors.
GO PELICANS !!!
